Carty, Leopold Albert, “Teacher” later of Pembroke Pines, Florida; Mona Heights and Lucky Hill, Jamaica passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, June 4 2009. He was 90 years old. He leaves his wife of 60 years, Lilla nee Crooks; children Dr. Michael Carty and wife, Linda; Jean and husband Dr. Paul Smart; grandchildren, David, Laura, and Samantha; brothers Roland and Edwin Carty; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by sister, Cislyn; brothers Noel Son and Charles. Funeral services will be held at Faith Presbyterian Church in Pembroke Pines, Florida on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 11:00 a.m : viewing immediately before the service from 10:30 – 11:00. Interment at Forest Lawn South, Davie Road, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to the Mico University College Scholarship Fund, 1A Marescaux Road, Kingston 5, Jamaica.
