Edwin V. Benes, age 89, of Pembroke Pines, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 25, 2018. Edwin was born in Rochester, New York, the son of the late Irving S. Benes and Anna J. Benes. After graduating High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served until 1948 when he was honorably discharged. Edwin married the love of his life, Gladys and together raised their three sons. They were married for 67 wonderful years. Pre-deceased by his parents Irving and Anna. He is survived by his beloved wife Gladys Benes; sons, Alan Benes, Marshall (Mary) Benes and Martin (Gail) Benes; and sister, Ellie Holtzman. An urn committal service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, 1:30 PM at South Florida National Cemetery.
