William J. McCluskey, age 94, of Pembroke Pines, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, June 13, 2018. He was born on July 30, 1923, in Goshen, New York, to the late Thomas and Rose McCluskey. Bill led a full and happy life. He was an adventurous soul who never met a stranger.

While attending university, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, proudly served in WWII, received multiple commendations, and was wounded in combat. Bill married the love of his life, Dorothy (Dottie) Claire Feeney, in 1947. They were married for 62 wonderful years. Together, they were the best teachers of unconditional love. In 1951, Bill obtained his Law Degree from the University of Miami. He performed pro-bono work without fanfare, helping simply because someone was in need. Continuing his service to others, he was actively involved in the Catholic Church. Bill achieved a Grand Master status with the Father Lawrence Flynn Council of Knights of Columbus #4772. He will be honored by many for his dedication to those he served throughout the years.

Bill had a tough exterior, but the heart of a teddy bear. He was fiercely loyal to family and friends. He enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, skiing, golf, tennis, trips with his family, and playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His active lifestyle kept him young well into his 90s. He instilled a spirit of adventure in his children and grandchildren that will live on for many years to come and his family will forever cherish his memory.

Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife Dottie and 2 great grandchildren. He is survived by his 5 children; Tom (Debbie), Pat (Jerry), Bill, Mary Jane (Manny), Barry (Georgenne); 14 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 24th, from 2:00-4:00 PM with a Tribute of a Lifetime Service at 4:00 PM. Reception will follow until 7:00 PM at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, University Drive Chapel – 1600 N. University Drive, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33024.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bill’s name to the Knights of Columbus, Council #4772.

So sorry to the family for the earthly loss of this wonderful man. Bill Mc Cluskey served his family, our great country, his community, and the church. Through their love, Bill & Dottie Mc Cluskey created a beautiful family and a legacy reflected in the lives of their family who follow in their footsteps. The lives of their beautiful children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will forever bear Bill and Dottie’s signature.
