Ashcroft, Alan , 90, of Hollywood, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2011. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Bertha Ruth. Together they enjoyed square dancing and traveling. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII and retired from his career as a purchasing agent for area hospitals in Broward County. He is survived by niece Maureen and her husband Richard Bosch of Gulfport, FL, niece Betty Ann and her husband Charles Meli, of Palm Coast, FL, nieces Tara, Amber, Betty, Susan & Leonie; and nephew Denis. Family and friends will gather Thursday, March 3, from 1:00 – 3:00 PM, with a Memorial Service beginning at 1:30 PM, immediately followed by a reception all at the funeral home.

Alan had such high integrity in his position at the NBHD . I will always cherish our relationship and remember his fairness.

We have known Alan for over 40 years when he and his wife Bertha came to Florida.They became family to us as at that time they did not have family here in the south, we just adopted them. They were the most wonderful people to everyone, they quickly made many friends. We will miss them very much, but we know they are together now & will be happy forever……..May they both rest in peace…………
