A piece of my heart is broken today. Georges and I were in the nursing program together in 2015. My friend Georges will always be in my heart as a genuine, loyal friend, a devoted child of God, a motivator. Oh, that smile. It does not matter how bad things appeared to be, Georges smile was contagious. I dare not ask God why, but I just want to ask the Lord to ease the pain and sorrow in our hearts. To Georges mom, sisters and immediate family: I pray that God will grant you peace and strength that surpass all understanding. Heaven has gained an angel on March 25. He’s gone in the flesh but he will always be with us in spirit. I will forever love you and cherish the memories, my friend in Christ.

This is really sad news to hear that someone so wonderful is gone. George was an amazing person to work with and always the first to smile. Last time I spoke with him was when he told me that he was resigning. Hadn’t spoke to him since but the memories we had working together will always remain with me. Our late nights closing isn’t singing, laughing and listening to calls. My condolences to the rest of the family.

My dearest Nurse George! You were such an positive and strong person. Even through the toughest times, you always found a way to put a smile on my face and encouraged me to push through. You fought a great fight "Billionaire Nurse Georges", and I couldn’t have been any prouder. God needed his strongest warrior home to lead the other angels. Thank you for all the great memories, your spirit lives on ????. Love you always bro!

To the Depestres Family I just want you to know it is said: to lose a loved one in the flesh is to have gained an angel in spirit. George’s was such an amazing, funny, understanding man. I was a nursing student with him at Southeastern and our birthdays were only 2 days apart ?? He was always so confident and he always saw the brighter side of every obstacle thrown at him. All he wanted to do was to make his mother proud. George will forever be missed here on earth. Until we meet again ??

The whole of the Southeastern College family is saddened by this loss. Georges brought a smile to our face, showed how much he cared every day, and we all knew how much he loved his family. He touched our hearts while he was with us, and we were so happy to hear his news as continued to grow as a nurse. We were shocked to imagine that he was hit by a cruel illness, and hoped that he would find a way to overcome it as he overcame so many other challenges in his short life. May his uplifting spirit continue to uplift all of his friends and family.

I don’t think I ever met a more loving caring person. Just a person so rare, so pure and authentic. Always checked on me and told me what a wonderful mom I was, which meant so much because he didn’t know any of my challenges as a new mom. I will forever cherish the bond we had. Until we meet again, Georgey! I love you.
