Joe, you’re a hard act to follow. Many great Irishmen have come from Boston and you’re most certainly one of ’em. You forced me to become better at all I did by demanding excellence and you gave me the tools to do so. Your intelligence, wit, and humor was the best. The next time I visit one of the many fine establishments of our heritage, There’ll be a glass beside mine and a toast to a great man who will be remembered always. May God bless and keep you for your work here is done. “09 – 06”

Metro Joe, You are missed like you can never imagine. Thanks for all the laughs, the company you gave me when Gaby’s was slow, for all the correct answers on N.T.N. , the talks when I was feeling blue, the help when I needed it, but most of all thank you for the years of friendship you gave me, I can only hope I gave you the friendship you gave me. I love you Metro, you are a one in a lifetime & I miss you dearly……. Your evil princess. Tecia

Metro Joe… there are no words to describe how much you are going to be missed. I have a lot of great memories of talking and sitting with you at Gaby’s. Sitting with you after my shift was one of the things I missed the most when I left Gaby’s. You will forever be in my heart. I want you to know that I thought about you often after I moved to Colorado and never forgot all the happiness and funny times we shared. Lagalaga… I miss you!

Joe, You were definitely one of a kind. I for one am priviliged to have worked for and with you. Your gruff demeanor often hid guidance for those willing to listen. Your untimely passing will be felt by many. Thanks for helping me understand what being a lieutenant was really about.
