David John Edwards, Jr., 88, of Hollywood, Florida, went to rest in his last port of call in heaven on Thursday, June 8, 2017. David was born on December 6, 1928 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late David Edwards and the late Ruth Baker.

David proudly served in the U.S. Navy in WWII and was discharged honorably. He then worked as a licensed insurance agent retiring in 1994. David loved his family and had many friends. He always put others needs before his own and liked to make people laugh. He enjoyed listening to music and taking care of his home and yard.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Emma Louise Edwards. David is survived by son David Edwards, Jr, and his wife Gina; daughter Kathy Nagel and her husband Darryl; son Thomas Edwards; daughter Laura Duarte and her husband Carlos; along with six grandchildren.

The family also wishes to express the sincere thanks to the staff at Margate Manor and Vitas Hospice for their loving care.
