Laverde, Manuel, 75, of Davie, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2012. He was born on June 17, 1936, in Bordo, Cauca, Colombia to Manuel & Julia Laverde. Manuel is survived by his wife, Bozena; children, Mary Lucy Tillet and husband, Kenneth, Manuel A. Laverde and wife, Elizabeth, Elizabeth Ospina, Julia M. Ramirez and husband, Edinson, Maria del Rocio Laverde and husband, Walter, Martha Luna and husband, Henry, Kondrad Laverde, and Patrick Laverde; grandchildren, Vanessa, Erwin, Alex, Marcela, Natalia, Johan, Christian, Jovanny, Edinson, Allison, Kelly, Brandon, Walter, Jr., Anthony, Yailenne, Leah, and Chloe; great grandchildren, Darshawn, Jayla, Sofia, and Lailanny; and sister, Maria Teresa Sanchez and husband, Hugo. Gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2012, from 11 AM – 1 PM with a Tributes of a Lifetime Service at 12 noon, at Boyd-Panciera University Drive Chapel.

Your Suffering Is Done

This morning as I sit here looking up the sky I keep on asking myself, why; How you suffered for so long; until that Wednesday morning when you went home where you belong. We have cried and pleaded for this day to come; so that it would be over and be done. The memories of you with us, we will always be locked in the corridors of our minds and that will be visited from time to time. Dear dad, you fought every day and every night, even while you laid unable to really see any light. We all held your hand, brushed your hair while whispering to you, “Dad we will always be there… go… your job was well done, we will always love you.” Then, on that morning when we all got the call; all we wanted to do was slam our fist to the wall. We cried, screamed in every way that you, dad, would never go away. We all want for you to know that we did everything we could to hold you tight, but we now realized that it was time to let you go. Forever in our hearts, you will have a huge place. We will miss you, we are glad that there is no more pain, your suffering is done.

Man, survives and perseveres in light. Father, feeds and tries with might.
Grandpa, loves you and tells you goodnight. Manuel Jose Laverde, did all in his life. He climbed mountains that no one can dare. Has given life to a family string in where, I, including many, can share love and value, in which we all compare.
He does not cease to exist, we just say goodbye, with a tear and a kiss,
in hope that with Lord, you reminisce. Manuel Jose Laverde, you will be missed.
