Julia Grace Mueller went to heaven Friday, April 2 at the age of 91 in Hollywood, with her loving and devoted husband George at her side. She was born Julia Grace McCarty August 18, 1918 in Princeton, Kentucky to Needham and Erie McCarty. She grew up on a farm, the seventh of eight children. She attended school and worked on the farm, eventually attending Western Kentucky University. Upon graduation she taught in a one room school house. When World War II began, she worked in the defense effort and eventually went to work for Eastern Air Lines where she met her future husband George. They were married in Evansville, Indiana, December 24, 1950 where they raised their family. In the mid 1960s they moved to Hollywood. There Julia was active in her church, St. Mark’s Lutheran. She loved playing tennis and was an outstanding and ruthless bridge player. She enjoyed the outdoors and was the Miami Dolphins’ #1 fan. She was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother and great grandmother and to the end remained a Kentucky farm girl. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, George and her son Dr. George Mueller, her daughter-in-law Beverly Mueller; her daughter Beth Mueller and son-in-law Philip Moros, four grandchildren: Meilissa, Amy, Michael and Emma and two great-grandchildren: William and Katherine Grace. She is also survived by her sister Rosemary; brother-in-law Gerhard and his wife Lillian and numerous nieces and nephews. Viewing will begin at 8:00 AM until time of Memorial Service at 10:00 AM all at St. Marks Lutheran Church, 502 North 28th Avenue, Hollywood. Interment will be 1:00 PM at South Florida National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions in Julia’s name be made to the children’s music program at St. Marks Lutheran Church. The family would like to thank Olive, Frieda and the many doctors, nurses and medical professionals who have cared so well for her over the years. True to her name, she has graced all our lives. She will be deeply missed.
