I just found out tonight at the Jordan-Columbus football game about the passing of your dad. I can’t believe it. He was not only a teacher but a friend. I visited him every time he was in the hospital and we talked about old times. I’m going to miss him as I’m sure you will. My prayers to your family. Joe Lamb JVHS 1975

Sorry to hear about Mr. Ellis. He was a mentor in my youth and a good friend later in life. I have missed him at the airport and Fat Freddies in the last year and didn’t know he had moved and fell ill. My sincere condolences. May you be blessed with the best of Memories. Sam McQuagg JR JVHS 1975
Please consider posting in the Columbus Ledger Enquirer, As Mr Ellis had many friends in Columbus who are just getting the news.

I was very sad to learn of Grovers passing. He was a mentor and a positive influence in my life, as well as many others. We went deer hunting together years ago and he bagged a nice 8 pointer while his son got a huge 13 point buck. He accompanied me to the national VICA machine shop competition in Miami FL back in 1975. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the family members. We’ve just lost one of the shinning stars that touched so many lives in a positive way.
