Backes, Harry J, 87, of Hollywood, passed away Friday, November 13, 2015. He was born on June 12, 1928, in Pittsburgh, PA, to the late Harry G. Backes and Emma Kruhm. He proudly served in the US Navy from 1946-1948. Survived by his be loved wife Margaret, daughter Kim (Robert) Sterner, 3 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Viewing Tuesday from 6-9 PM American Legion and Tributes of a Lifetime Service at 7:00 PM at Boyd-Panciera University Drive Chapel. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Hollywood Hills United Methodist Church. Private Interment will follow at South Florida National Cemetery.

Peggy I’m so sorry for your loss. I know I haven’t known you and Bud long but we grew close fast. I keep sharing stories of Canasta with joe and telling him how slick and sharp Bud was at the game. I’m going to miss him when I’m visiting in the winter. Please tell Kim I’m so sorry I know what its like to lose a dad,very hard.
