Ritchie, Roger J., 84, of Dania Beach passed away at home Wednesday, January 14, 2009. He was born July 21, 1924, in Tiltonsville, Ohio and came to Dania in 1946 after his service in the U.S. Army during WWII as a Medical Technician 409. He is survived by 5 children; Roberta Robinson, Sharon Loyd, David, Roger Ritchie, Lisa, David Ritchie, Joseph Ritchie, 2 brothers, Charles and Jim Ritchie; 2 sisters, Margaret Fisher and Shirley Barte; 12 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. Burial of cremains will take place at South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth, Florida on Monday, April 6, 2009 at 10:30 AM.

To the family of Mr. Ritchie,
Your Dad & Mom too, always had their front door opened to welcome us neighborhood kids inside or hang out in the front yard. I thank him for this memory and for lifetime friends Sharon and Danny. I am sorry for everyone’s loss and know he will be missed by all.

Dear Sharon and Family,
Your father’s loss has had such an impact on our entire family due to the fact our mother was so fond of him and thought of him as a such a close friend and ifelong neighbor. All of you were so lucky to have such a loving and caring father and I can only imagine how much he will be missed by all of you. The entire family has been keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. My brother, Roger, was one of the nice guys all his life. He was always close to our family and he loved his family and was always there for any of us. Jack and I have spent a lot of time with him and had lots of laughs and good times. He is missed so much by all of us. We love you “Rog” Jack and Midge
