Hein, Joan E., 93, a resident of south Florida for 61 years coming from Queens, New York, entered into eternal life on October 25, 2017. She was born to William Martin and Olive Smalling. Joan was a true mentor and role model to her family and every one who had the privilege to have known her. She was a sweet human being, an angel in disguise. Her memory will always live on the many lives she touched. Pre-deceased by her beloved husband of 57 years, Anton K. Hein. Survived by her son and his family, James Hein, Valerie Hein and Larry Robitaille; her daughter, Diane Rice and her husband Bruce; and grandsons, Justin Rice, Kenneth Rice, Keith Rice and Anton Hein. Memorial Mass will take place on Friday, November 3, 2017, 10:30 a.m. at Saint David Catholic Church. Urn Committal Service will follow at South Florida National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her dear husband.
