I have happy memories of playing the piano while James played the guitar, and sang along with his wife Allie and daughter Fay in my home. It is a blessing to have known him. My condolences to all the family.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family during this special time of remembering your parents – James and Allie Isler. Our Dad and Grandpa – Joe Westbrooks, of Gaffney, S.C., and James became best friends in the early 1940s. Music was their common bond. They played country music together at Lloyd Richards’ Country Store and the Jolly Dance Hall on S.C. Highway 11 near the Cowpens National Battlefield for several years. The last time these lifelong friends played music together was at the Cowpens Battlefield Field on Labor Day, 2004. Our dad Joe died in July, 2007. So, we can just hear them playing and singing all the greatest country songs up there in Heaven…… Like the “The Wildwood Flower” and the “Great Speckled Bird” …… Rest in Peace!
