Carolina has been a family friend for many years. We met her when she was a young girl helping her Mom at our daughter’s preschool. She had grown to be a lovely, caring young woman and a wonderful role model. I always enjoyed spending time with her, and have fond memories of her acting like the big sister that my daughter, Shaley, never had. It is stunning to lose Carolina at such a young age. I grieve for her, and for her mother, Christina. We will miss you greatly, Carolina, but I know you are in Heaven now and that your life there will be better than we on Earth can even imagine. God bless and hold you, sweet child. You will be missed.

I met Astrid in middle school through mutual friends. When I met her I instantly saw what a fun loving person she was. She was always happy and determined to make everyone around her happy as well. Despite never having a class together, we remained friends throughout middle school and high school. I can honestly say Astrid changed my life. She showed me that you’re never too old to be crazy and have fun, and that putting a smile on someone’s face is just as important as having one on yours. Astrid was one of my best friends and I can only hope that wherever she is, she still has that smile on her face that she always had. I’m truly grateful for every fun filled moment I got to spend with her and our friends.

My most sincere condolences to Reyna Ortega. This is such an unimaginable loss for her. I hope she knows that she has so many people who are here for her and will do anything to help her in any way possible.
