James E. Jackson Sr., 84, of Plantation, Florida died March 6, 2019 at the Alexander Nininger State Veterans Nursing Home in Pembroke Pines, Florida. He was born September 7, 1934 in Bressler, PA to Ernest D. Jackson Sr. and Mary (Schroy) Jackson.

  He was a retired U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of New Horizon United Methodist Church, Barbershop Harmony Society, VP-44, VP-24, VP-6, The Big T (USS Ticonderoga) Veteran’s Associations, Navy Memorial Museum, Fleet Reserve Association and the American Legion.

  Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Nancy Ickes Jackson, two daughters, Mrs. Janine Wert (Steve) and Mrs. Jill Kuchinos (Michael), a son, James Jackson Jr. (Allison); three sisters, Mrs. Shirley Shull, Mrs. Mary Scott and Mrs. Gale Guthrie (Russell); a brother, David Jackson; ten grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and one great-grandson.

  A memorial service will be held at his church, New Horizon United Methodist Church, 5741 S. Flamingo Rd., Southwest Ranches, FL on March 16 at 3:00. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

  Local arrangements will be handled by Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care of Pembroke Pines. Graveside services will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Indiantown Gap Road, Annville, PA under the direction of Ronald Smith Funeral Home of Duncannon, PA on March 26 at 2:30. (Please arrive before 2.00.)
