Murphy, Peter G., 75, of Homestead passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2007. After retiring from the U.S. Coast Guard, Pete joined the Metro Dade Sheriff Department where her retired as a detective. He is survived by his daughter Linda Harper Thomas; son, Raymond Murphy; grandchildren, Allison, Kylie and Mckenzie Harper; brother, George Murphy Margaret; former wife Elaine, special friend Teri Ruiz, his beloved cat Oscar and dogs Frankie and Dino. Pete was preceded in death by his daughter Julie Murphy. He will be loved and missed by his family and friends. Friends may visit from 6-9 PM, Monday at Boyd’s University Dr. Chapel.

Pete was a fine police officer and detective, a good friend, and occasional partner since 1974. We worked the San Pedro investigation together in the early 1980’s. We will miss you Pete. My sincere condolences to Pete’s family. Mike Maloy
