After retirement he learned to play golf and moved to Fort Lauderdale Florida for the winter and returned to Portland four months each summer. He and his wife, Jeanne traveled often to Europe and several cruises to the Caribbean. He especially enjoyed travelling to Cancun and Puerta Vallarta, Mexico.

Dear Jeanne and family: I was saddened to read of Ed’s passing. As you know, I worked with him at the Court from 1981-87. I have lots of fun memories of our working together and we remained friends for many years. Barry and I enjoyed meeting the two of you for lunch when you’d come to Oregon for the summer. Barry and I extend our deepest sympathy to you and your family. Fondly, Linda
