Marie Rose Delna Valentin was born in Les Cayes, Haiti on March 18, 1922. Her parents Joseph and Letitia Valentin had a total of five children, of which Marie was the third born. Marie went on herself to be the mother of five children; Michelle Franklin Ducheine, Marie Maude Franklin, Joseph Alcindor and wife Marva Alcindor, Mirlande Alcindor Muhsen, Jessie Alcindor Sylvestre and husband Edwidge Sylvestre. From her children, she was given 10 grand children, and 12 great grand children. She was a loving, kind, generous, humble, and hospitable person. These qualities made her a wonderful mother, grandmother and an overall wonderful friend to all who knew her. She also was loved and will be missed by all her nieces and nephews.

Marie migrated to the US in 1962 and single handedly sent for all five of her children to also move to America where she raised and educated them.

In the late 70’s she started studying the bible with Jehovah Witnesses and in 1984 she symbolized her dedication to Jehovah in water baptism. Although her health made it at times difficult, Marie remained faithful to Jehovah to the end of her days. She passed away Monday, August 11, 2014, at 7:50pm and is now sleeping in death. Marie had faith in the resurrection Jehovah promised and although we will miss her, we await for the day Jehovah will reunite us again.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, August 23, 2014, from 10:00 a.m.-10:45 a.m. at Boyd-Panciera Hollywood Blvd. Chapel. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, 5632 SW 27 Street, Hollywood, FL 33020. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn South Cemetery.
