Shawn and I were brothers and more. I can’t begin to explain the depth and breadth of our relationship. We first met at what was then around 1970 known as Broward Junior College, and is now, as I understand, known as Broward Community College big diff. We spent virtually every waking hour together for a couple of years, and then I moved to Gainesville, FL, to go to UF. Shawn moved there shortly thereafter, and became one of the KEY members of a group known as the Yahooz! That group sprang from the residents of the third floor of Yulee resident hall, which was habitated by the soon-to-be Yahooz and me. Shawn’s room was Magic-Markered on the wall. He was beyond one of us – he WAS us! The years that ensued, what with my band JAKE consisting entirely of Yahooz, and the incredibly beautiful and magnificent complex that was our intertwined friendships, cannot adequately be described. However, I can say, in behalf of all of the Yahooz and their contingent, that Shawn will be remembered FOREVER! And he will be loved FOREVER! None of us would be exactly as complete as we are without having had the input of Shawn Reagan aka Pops. I am very proud to have introduced him to the Yahooz, and I am forever grateful to the universe for having known him as I did, from Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood to Gainesville and beyond, and through several side trips of indescribable significance. Shawn, you know of what I speak. I love you, have always loved you, and will continue to love you until we can together recount the experience of the exploding napkin dispenser. So, until then…
