COWAN, Joyce T., a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, of Miami, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 20, 2017, at the age of 81. She was born in Soperton, Georgia, to the late John Toler and Lucille Thomas. Pre-deceased by her daughter, Melanie Nicoden. Survived by her daughters, Marilyn Chambers, Melinda Deveaugh, Michelle (John Michael) Farquhar; sons, Michael (Cari) Bohannon, William (Robert) Cowan; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A reception to celebrate Joyce’s life will be held on Sunday, August 6, 2017, from 1-4 p.m. at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, Hollywood Boulevard Chapel. The family has requested donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, in lieu of flowers.
