Roma Jean Bennett, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, entered into eternal life on Thursday, January 28, 2016, at the age of 61. She was born on January 10, 1955, in Belize, to Roy Bennett and the late Kaiserine (Straughan) Bennett. Roma also known as Rome, bicycle gyal, foxy, carnival gyal, and dancing gyal. My mother was an out spoken, out-going, head strong, funny and vibrant soul. She was the life of all the parties. She was the best punta rock dancer and she did this thing with her butt cheeks while dancing. She lived her life to the fullest, anything she wanted to do she did. You could not be her friend and not get a proper cursing from her. You could not have an encounter with her and not know that she had one prize daughter (also known as her pretty girl) and 3 beautiful grandkids. She loved her husband, Mark, they were meant for each other. Her family was everything to her. She was the favorite auntie (Also known as the cool aunt). She could always relate to whatever was going on in her nieces and nephews lives. My mother loved her bike, it was like her car, and she maintained it well. Anybody that she came in contact with her made a lasting impression on them. Her memory will always be cherished by her beloved daughter, Yvette Bennett; her husband of 21 years, Mark Hill; her loving grandchildren, Khalil Jackson, Kimani Jackson and Kimaya Jackson; her dear sisters, Glenda Guerrier, Sandra Bennett, Eleanor Bennett, Faye Bennett and Karen Bennett; her brothers, Rupert Anderson and Anthony Straughan; and many nieces and nephews. Roma will always be remembered for her fun, loving and unique personality. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 5, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, University Drive Chapel. Funeral Service with Tributes of a Lifetime will be on Saturday, February 6, starting at 12:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Gardens Cemetery (north).

In this time of grief, look up. We don’t know why our loved ones are taken, but we do know that we will see them again in the next life. May God hold you in His arms and give you the comfort only He can give. Stay strong, and focus on the great memories you have of her. She would want you to be happy.
