Aunt Rose will live forever in my memory. She took care of me when I was a small child. Her sweet compassionate voice still brings joy. Most of all I appreciated her unfeigned love for the LORD.

Even though I did not meet my Aunt Rose face-to-face until after my mother, Merry Jane McKean nee Robinson had died, I remember fond stories my mom told me about her beautiful sister & their lives growing up along with their sister, Dea, & brother, Burke. I only wish I’d had more than one chance to come visit her & her family in Florida. Christmas of 1973 will always be one of the most memorable ones for me. Having grown up in San Antonio, it was so unusual for me to see palm trees decorated with Christmas lights! She took me to visit so many sites during the days I was there, but the sight that will live most fondly in my memory will be seeing her standing at the foot of the escalator in the Miami airport, waiting for me to arrive from my very first plane ride. She looked so much like my late mother & her voice was just as I’d remembered my mother’s. I will truly miss Aunt Rose & her wonderful letters to me.

Rose was so nice to me when I became part of her family by marrying Gregg, her grandson, she was my “partner in crime” I always had a great time ehile in her presence. I do not have a family of my own so this is hard for me but there is no better place to be than with Jesus, and she is, I know it, I will truly miss her.
