My Pop-Pop….. He was such a special person who will always be near and dear to me, in the deepest place of my heart. I know this because he told me only a few days ago that he would always be watching over us. That was his way- caring for others before himself. He had a golden soul, like no other person I know. I only have the happiest and most lovely thoughts of his life and our family. A boat rocking on the majestic sea, salty peanuts, dogs barking, and the sounds of a guitar strumming away to a Willie Nelson song- these are all I need to take me back to sit on Pop-Pop’s knee again. I love you forever, the Lord keep you until we meet again. You are “ALWAYS ON MY MIND.”

Donald Craig will be missed by all of his family. To his grandchildren, he was known as “Pop Pop.” My Pop Pop was the kindest most generous man I ever knew, and I will miss him dearly. Every time that I hear Willie Nelson I will always remember him. He loved music- he loved to play old country music on his guitar. I know that one day I will be united with him in heaven and I will be able to hear him pick the guitar once more. He told his family last Saturday that he will be watching over us- and I know that he will do a good job of it. I LOVE YOU POP POP!

It has been said that the best thing you can give children, next to good habits, are good memories. My dad has left me with a treasure of memories. Growing up there were sunny days at the Lake of the Ozarks, gliding over the water on skis. Then came soft twilights and catching fireflies that made glowing rings on my fingers. There were summer days scuba diving in the ocean, discovering the tropical beauty beneath the sea. When I reached adulthood, our family spent time camping and I watched him making memories with his grandchildren. He would play the guitar and teach the ones who wanted to learn. There was music and laughter and family and friends. Even in the challenging times of my life, there were good memories. Those of my dad encouraging me to be the best I could be. He was there to support me in everything I did. Right or wrong, he was behind me. I will miss his music, his laughter and his unconditional love. Thanks for the memories, Dad. I love you, Connie

Don- you were such a wonderful person for me to be around; a fun-loving, positive force in the short time that I had known you. Thank you for all the fun that we had together – especially watching and talking about football. It meant the world to me that you supported me and loved me as much as you loved your family. I’ll never forget the times that we had talking sports, country music, and about life in general. Thank you for blessing me to come into your family’s life and sharing the time that we spent together. Your wonderful wife, daughters, and grandchildren are a shining example of what you were and how you lived your life. You will be dearly missed by me, and you will always be my fellow highwayman. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your Christmas this past year. I love you- Michael
