I read about the death of Brenda in the obituary today. I wanted to write to express my sincere condolences. You must be feeling a lot of pain and grief at this time. I am very sorry for your loss.
In dealing with my personal loss of family and friends in death, I have found one thing to be truly comforting. That is the Bible’s promise of a resurrection., I would like to share that with you in hopes that it will bring you comfort as well.
Jesus said at John 5:28,29, “The hour is coming in which all those in their memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” Jesus used the expression “memorial tombs” because God’s memory is involved. He can remember every detail of each of our dead loved ones. And it is not just that he can remember. He wants to do so. Regarding the wonderful prospect of the resurrection Job said of God, “If an able-bodied man dies can he live again?… You God will call and I myself shall answer you. For the work of your hands you will have a yearning.” Job 14:14 If God ‘yearns’ to see our loved ones alive again we can be sure that he will resurrect them.
Although there is no way to completely erase the pain and grief, thinking on scriptures like these can help us cope. By reading them I hope you will find comfort.
