O’Barr, Gayle, 63, of Fort Lauderdale passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2007. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Sonny of 35 years. Gayle is survived by her six children, 14 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and one sister. Gayle worked tirelessly in her church where she served as President of Saint Ambrose ECW and the Broward County ECW. She founded the first amputee group in Broward County, known as F.A.S.T. Gayle worked tirelessly in her community and church. Funeral services for Mrs. O’Barr will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at 11:00 am at Saint Ambrose Episcopal Church, 2250 SW 31st Avenue, Ft. Laurderale, FL. Oh what bittersweet tears I shed knowing one of God’s earthly angels has ascended to heaven. I have been blessed with so many moments and memories. I saw a vision last night of Sonny & Gayle dancing together, twirling, laughing….so joyful and full of life…eternal life. Continue to smile down on me Gayle as I will be smiling up at you…with great love and affection…and much appreciation to God for the gift of you.

It has been an inspiration to know Gayle, who gave so much of herself to others. I have known her mainly through the Diocesan Board of the Episcopal Church Women over the years.
So sorry I was not able to attend her funeral, but she and all of her family are in my prayers.
