Ohh Baby, baby. What can I say?. How’s MOM?

To say I understand your grief, is an understatement. Let time make you better. Only time.

My thoughts are right beside you, all the time, as they have always been. I knew Stan for such along time. Let him go where there will be no more pain. You did yourself proud as a daughter, DJ.

Love to you and your entire family, Gail Marce

Dear Aunt Terri, Patti and Debbie…

I am so sorry. I will always remember the good times we had while I was growing up. Among my fondest memories are visiting with you guys, playing chopsticks on the piano and Uncle Stan calling me “Bubblehead”. My love to you all.

My darling Aunt Terri, Patti and Debbie. I have so many memories of Uncle Stan, all of them joyous and full of spirit. He was my replacement Daddy when I was growing up and always had a big smile and hug for me. He was fun to be with and I never, ever remember him without a smile. His deep abiding love and devotion to Aunt Terri and “his girls” was the highest tribute to him. I always remember saying to myself as a little girl that when I grew up I wanted to look like Aunt Terri and have a husband like Uncle Stan. Even as a child I recognized their deep love. My heart is breaking for you, I am only greatful that he passed peacefully into Heaven. I loved him so much. Barbara

It was an honor for me to both know Mr. Haliy, and to be there with all of you for his funeral. He, and each of you, hold a special place in my heart.

Some of my favorite words for you to remember at this time:

From Amy Tan “If people we love die, then they are lost only to our ordinary senses. If we remember, we can find them any time with our hundred secret senses.”

And also, from William Shakespeare

“His life was gentle, and the elements so mixed in him that nature might stand up and say to all the world, this was a man.”

with my love, Holly

A Hopi Indian Prayer

for Terri,

Patti, Debbie and family:

Do not stand at my grave and weep

I am not there, I do not sleep

I am the thousand winds that blow

I am the diamond glint on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain.

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you wake in the morning hush,

I am the swift, uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circling flight.

I am the soft starlight at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry.

I am not there, I did not die.

With love,

Lorrie and Ed Scanlan

Dear Mrs Haliy;

I’m so very sorry for your loss. Stan was a wonderful man, he always called me bubblehead, lovingly I’m sure. That will stay with me. I remember the smile on his face when drove his brand new Mustang over to show us, so proud -“Not bad for a quarter!” I spent alot of time at your house growing up and always felt like part of the family. All those Sundays at the beach were the best. And of course if I ever needed anything – deodorant, pens, pads, shampoo, dresses or whatever he had it in his famous garage, cases of it. Stan will surly be missed. The sadness will fade in time but the love never will.
