I am saddened to hear about Dave’s death. I worked for him as an organist in the late 70’s and found him to be a great friend, and a powerful personality. He was one of God’s great men. Another soldier has gone home.

7-23-2009 To the children and extended family members of Pastor David Epley, I want to say that I have been deeply saddened by the passing of your father. I was just thinking about him the last few weeks and the thought came to my mind that he might not be on this earth much longer. Now I know it was not just a thought. I remember thinking I would really miss the encouraging letters he has sent over the years should he leave this earth. I first became acquainted with him and the ministry after hearing him on the radio in the late 70’s out of Greensboro, North Carolina. I attended a few meetings in Greensboro, and one in Atlanta, Georgia in the 80’s. He has been a great encouragement to me over the years. He will never be forgotten. He has the peace and rest we all long for someday when we can finally leave all the problems of this earth. Thank you so much, Melody, for letting the partners of the Good Sheperd Ministries know of your father’s passing. My love and prayers go out to all of you.

To the Family Of Pastor David Epley:
Sadden to hear the passing of Pastor Epley, I have been a faithful follower of His since the early 70’s My mom introduced His Ministry to me. I wrote and support it for many, many, years. His ministry was a great, great inspiration to me. As a matter of fact it Drew Me To Jesus. The many, many letters, Prophecies, that Pastor would send me was truly, from God! On September 11,2009 I went to my mailbox and there was a letter with His Name on it. I was very excited because just only the week before, It arised in my Spirit that I haven’t heard from Him in a long timenot knowing He passed in June 2009I said to myself I shall call my mother to find out have He been writing her. When I open the letter that day, I was very sadden to learn the reason “why” He hadn’t wrote in along time. Pastor Epley, was a mighty, mighty man of God! His work was finish here, He went to be with the Lord! I will dearly miss Him, these 39 yrs, of being a Part of His Ministry has been a Blessing. I recalled he came to New JerseyI was living there at the time I attended the service. To the family: It is truly Our Loss, but Heaven Gain. Keep Looking to Jesus, Carryon the Works of the Lord, and One Day We Will Meet Him Again. Be Bless! We Love Him, But God Loved Him the Best.

It is my heartfelt sympathy to the family of the late Pastor David Epley. Pastor Epley was a very admired and inspirational teacher and Pastor to me and my Mother for many years back in the 80’s. My mother served as a faithful member and was on several auxillaries in the church. I thought of Pastor Epley a few days ago and decided to try and find him and this is what I found. He is in a better place now, and heaven knows that he completed his mission here on earth. It was his time to go home and live in the heavenly kingdom with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. God Bless Your Family and may you continue to be uplifted by the many prayers and blessings that surround you. R.I.P. Pastor Epley and God Bless His Family.
Sincerely,
Charlotte Neal

I have to add, that not only did Pastor Epley perform my weeding at no cost, but he did conducted my 6 year old daughter funeral who died in a car accident. During that time, my pastor made time to counsel me through the darkest time of my life. He was my first pastor, and I will alway remember and love him. I first came to his church in my late teens, i am now 54 years old. His works will live on and I thank God for a man like him.

Two years ago when i received the news of Pastor Epley’s passing i was so shocked. This man was a true man of God, i know this because he would write to me often and whatever he mentioned in his letters were confirmed. He had no idea what i was going through so he couldn’t possibly know but God revealed it unto him. I love Pastor Epley, and i used the present tense love because i still love him, whether in living or death. I know he is in a better place now with the Lord. Pastor please take care of my mom Pearl and my cousin Latonya, they are both with the Lord now …

I met Pastor Epley 6 years ago. I had the privileged of taking him out to lunch with my father 5 or 6 times. He loved a Cuban place in Hallandale Beach. He awed me with stories of revivals past and inspired me with talk of what God would do in the future. Even in the winter of his life he was a dreamer and a visionary. Pastor Epley loved Jesus and he loved people but in my mind what set him apart was he understood people and the struggles they face. I treasure the time i got to spend listening to him. He influenced many and will be missed by many.

My name is Beverly Ford, a native New York born, I use to call upon Pastor David Epley for prayer when I was in New York. He was a true minister of God. He blessed me when I was in the hospital. He sent me a prayer cloth and through his prayers, I believed that I was healed, because he was a man of God and blessed me through Jesus Christ anointings. May he rest in peace and his soul dwells in heaven.

I first met Pastor David Epley in 1972 in Pittsburgh, PA at Soldier and Sailors Memorial Hall. He was holding a miracle crusade there. I listened to him daily on radio and remember how surprised I was when I seen him in person. For whatever reason I had a mental image of someone who wore glasses, was short and stubby and overweight. However, I vividly remember him as tall, dark and handsome, even to a teenage girl.
During the ministry portion of the service Pastor Epley came over to me and asked if I know anyone named Linda. I said that was me and he proceeded to tell me things about my life. What a blessing he was that night.
I continued to follow his ministry making trips, along with my mother, to New York City, Baltimore MD, Dayton OH, Philadelphia PA and Miami FL. In 1975 my parents moved to Fort Myers FL and my mother and I made monthly trips across Alligator Alley to Miami to visit The Church of the Good Shepherd. We would leave at 6 a.m. Sunday morning to arrive in time for church. Mom and I attended many camp meetings there and mom was a faithful contributor to the ministry.
I did not know what happened to Pastor Epley and am saddened at his passing. I lost my mom on July 18, 2010 and I know she often wondered what happened to him after we moved to the Carolina’s in 1979. Pastor Epley, I know you will be and already are missed by many who loved you and followed your ministry.

I was a young adult, living in the Bronx when I prayed the sinners prayer with Pastor Epley by Radio, some time later, I met Pastor David Epley in person at a Church in Brooklyn, NY I believe it was in 1973 He laid hands on me. I saw people shouting, but I don;t recall feeling a big difference, I felt a little numb. I have never forgot Pastor David I have always thought of him through the years His prayers and Touch led me to Salvation. I received by laying of hands, Holy Spirit, later that same year through a another Man of God. I am still save to day Sanctified, 40 years later, preaching, and teaching to unadulterated Word of GOD. I Still Love You Pastor David Epley; Rest in The Glorious PEACE of GOD!

My name is Terry Parrett … My brother and I had the immense honor of being a part of Pastor Epley’s staff for many years. We traveled with him, confidante to him. We learned so much from him our father died at an early age and Pastor Epley became a father image to us and a friend. His anointing was amazing and he was tremendously skilled in ministering. There will never be another like him. The presence of God in our worship services was astounding. God blessed his life and he blessed millions of God’s people with the blessings God gave him.
