Matthews, Lawson R., 66, of Davie passed away Friday, June 26. He is survived by his wife Yvonne Matthews, 5 children; Ricky Matthews, Ann-Marie, Debbie Grey, Christopher, Ron Rowe, Robynne Matthews, Kelli Matthews, 4 brothers, Michael “Micky” Matthews, Dolores, Milton “Bunny” Matthews, Paul Matthews, Dennis Matthews, Josette, and 7 grandchildren. Friends may visit from 6-9 PM, Friday at Boyd-Panciera University Dr. Chapel. There will be a Tributes of a Lifetime 7:30 PM, Friday at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM, Saturday, Jul. 11, at Holy Sacrament Episcopal Church.

We are deeply sadened by the passing of Lawson. He will be remembered as a great man who always made us smile,laugh and sing. He always took the time to talk to those around him, thank you Lawson for honouring us with your time. To all of the Matthews family you are in our hearts and in our prayers. Lawson will be remembered always for the love for his family and friends, for the laughter and kindness he showed the world, for his talent and enormous encouragement to others with talent.
He was a wonderful man, husband, father and friend. I thank God for the previlege of knowing such a person. A great life and a big blessing to all who knew him. His legacy will live on in his children and their children – for they are of the seed of greatness and the fruit of his labour.
Yvonne, I will continue to keep you all in my prayers for continued strength.
