I knew Mrs. Jeter for many years. When we both lived in Burlington, NC., she was my Sunday School teacher at Burlington First Church of the Nazarene. I had the privilege of sharing meals, birthdays and just so many social events with her. I also had the privilege of studying the Bible with her and many prayer sessions. She was a saint and could be counted on for whatever she was needed for. What a selfless woman of God!! I had stayed in contact with her even when we both moved to Florida. I went to Hollywood and spent a weekend with her once and we had so much fun. The last time I saw her was at my wedding in 2005. We did keep in touch frequently since then. I will miss her wisdom and her caring, beautiful smile.What a privilege for her to go to sleep and have Jesus wake her up. The family is in my thoughts and prayers. Another saint….gone home. I love you Mrs. Jeter.

Dear Sweet Mrs. Jeter,

I loved her dearly, like another Mother. She stood beside me in some very difficult times in my life and gave me hope. She was great comfort to know she was there anytime I reached out to her day or night. I know of no one who lived the Christian life at all times with such faith and joy as Mrs. Jeter. She was always the same to all people. She loved everyone. She never judged people,but rather prayed for for God to comfort and guide. Oh how she will be missed. She touched so many lives. But I know is celebrating with her Lord and Savior and that blesses and comforts me.

Heaven is a brighter place today because Doyle Rae is there. I remember her so well at Central Church and I knew that she was someone that I could look up to at a time when I wasn’t sure how I felt about being a Christian. Her example was genuine. I am sure that she will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

What can we say about a great servant of God, Doyle Jeter?

The words of the hymn writer says it all;

Ready to go, Ready to stay,

Ready my place to fill;

Ready for service lowly or great,

Ready to do His Will!

Miss Doyle was a wonderful example of Christian service, especially as one approaches the “top of the hill.” She remained active in all aspects of the church. She led the Women’s Bible Study. She led prayer at NMI services. At Youth Night, she was there. Evening services and special events, she was there. Even during VBS, she was there! And we always appreciated the cards she sent on birthdays and anniversaries – even when we were out of the country! Every Christian woman should want to grow up to be like Miss Doyle.

May she enjoy the crowns of glory she is now receiving in heaven.

There is no way mere words can describe this dear, sweet woman of God. Doyle was our Sunday School teacher when we first started attending Burlington First and soon became someone we considered to be a part of our family. I never remember her without that beautiful smile on her face and her loving, Godly spirit was reflected in everything she did and said. Our family has been so blessed by her throughout the years and even after she moved away, those prayers and birthday blessings just kept on coming. The coolest thing was her learning how to use email to keep up with everyone…at her age! That was just like her!

Even though we weren’t able to see her often since the move, it was wonderful just knowing that she was still there for us, many miles away.

She is with her Jesus now, along with her dear husband and grandson, walking the streets of gold. How happy she must be!

We will love you always!
