McCullar, George “Mac”, 92, of Margate, passed away May 11, 2010. A long time resident of South Florida coming from Arkansas. He was born September 20, 1917 in El Dorado, AR. Survived by wife Muriel McCullar; brother Doyle McCullar; children Norman Brown of Mills River, NC and Glenda Van Doren David of Hollywood; grandchildren Lori Holbert, Ann Tortora Mark and Jennifer Maciel; greatgrandchilden Daniel, David, Sarah, David Glen, James and Braylan. Predeceased by grandson Kenneth Van Doren. George proudly served 40 years in the US Coast Guard and is a veteran of WWII. After serving active duty he worked on lighthouses on the US coast. He was a member of Atlantic Baptist Church of Margate and a 32 degree Mason. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to Atlantic Baptist Church. Funeral Service will be Saturday, May 22nd, 11:00am at Atlantic Baptist Church, 4850 W. Atlantic Boulevard, Margate, FL. Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Park in Miami.
