Michael,

I was so saddened to hear about your father’s passing. He was loved by everyone at Springhouse/Parkland. He was always enthusiastic to share his love for science with me. He talked so highly of his son, daughter-in-law, and grandsons. May fond memories comfort you during this most difficult time.

Dear Mike and Monika,

I called Dave on his birthday, but I didn’t realize how close he was to the end. He’s been on my Prayer Circle’s list for nearly a year. I feel the loss deeply here, so far away. My sympathy to you and the children.

As the moderator of the South Florida Pulmonary Fibrosis Support Group SFPFG we would like to send our condolences. Although i did not know Mr. Lowry personally we in the group are living with PF and want you to know that we appreciate the struggle that you and you dad went through.

Asking for donations to the PFF is admirable for you to do.

Hoping not to sound crass at such an early date after his passing, we would welcome your participation in our local group if you so desire. We are also having a fund raiser for PF research this weekend in Boca.

May God Bless you and your family.

Dear Mike and Monika, Matthew and Christopher,

You know what a wonderful admiration your Dad and I had for each other. We truly love each other and thank God that we found a new way of living. I am so thankful that you allowed me to be a pallbearer and part of the candle lighting ceremony. Thanks, Michael, for supporting me as I struggled through your Dad’s eulogy. As I said, life is not ended but merely changed. Your Dad’s love and loyalty and optimism and fatherly care live on. Dave, you are all right now in int loving arms of the God of your understanding and we will all be all right if we follow your example. I love you, Dave. Carpe Diem eternally.

I was fortunate to have known Dave. Like many, I would have loved to have known him better. He was a wonderful father and grandfather. From what I personally experienced, he was a good friend. Moreover, he always knew what to say to make you feel better. He had an amazing heart. Dave showed us how to be optimistic even in the face of significant adversity. Dave, you will be missed! Thank you for leading by example.
