I, too, remember the sweet upper classman who graced the Lago High School as we grew up, together, in Aruba. Cynthia was always sweet and caring, a joy to remember as the perfect mentor. It seems natural that she would have become a teacher. I am sad for you all. Please give my condolences to Mrs. Mundt. Sue Gravendijk Class of 62

We will miss Cynthia very much, I visited her in Hollywood in 2008 and we were planning to visit this year. We were good penpals on e-mail and exchanged many good jokes and political commentaries. We are very sorry to hear she has left us. She was a wonderful lady with a big heart and always welcomed us Aruba kids to her house to share Aruba memories.

It is with great sadness that I learn of Cynthias death. Only last month did my brother John and I visit her home and was delighted with her warm hospitality and splendid cooking. We were neighbours in bungalow 471 on the hospital road oppoaite the tank farm.Cynthia was my child hood girlfriend at age 11. We met last year on my trip to Aruba, for the first time in 60 years.
Her collection of Aruba memrobilia and books on her shelf were a joy to read. Her sudden and unexpected passing is to soon, but she will always be my very first puppy love ! I am so happy for our visit in June and opportunity to share some joyous times.
Memories will last and keep her in our hearts.
love from down under

I’m sorry to hear about Cynthia’s passing. My condolences to her family and close friends. It’s sad to lose another person with whom we could reminisce about our Aruba days. I remember speaking with her at Cal Rimmer’s funeral and communicating once in a while thereafter. I’m in the Treasure Coast Parrot Head Club and we raised over $6,000 for the Relay For Life which benefits the American Cancer Society. Every little bit will help I’m sure. I lost my Mom to cancer too. I just wish more progress could be made to fight this disease.

Losing Cynthia will leave a very large void in the lives of all that knew her. Our circle of “girl friends” spent many happy hours having lunch and celebrating birthdays together with her. She loved the fish fries that we had on so many occasions. She had a kind and generous heart, always thinking of others. My deepest sympathy be with all of you who loved her as we did, both family and friends. God Bless!

My sincere condolences and prayers for Cynthia’s family. Cynthia was an important part and leader of our Lago High Class of 1960. Cynthia was Class Treasurer our freshman year and Class Secretary our senior year. Always kind, encouraging, positive, and happy, Cynthia met everyone with an inspiring smile! All who knew Cynthia can say, “Cynthia is my friend!” And she made everyone of us better! A dedicated people-builder!
