Barfield, Sidney Alton Al Sr., January 9, 1937 – July 31, 2012. Born in Snowhill, NC, Sid honorably served in the US Air Force from 1956-1964. He was a master electrician and retired from Rexall Sundown in 2009. As a humanitarian, he donated to several international charities and made dear friends and pen pals by “adopting” orphans in India. He enjoyed spending time with loved ones and was always on a quest for the world’s greatest cup of espresso. Preceded by his parents and his brother Melvin “Russ.” Survived by wife, Rita Marie Barfield; his sons Sidney “Al”, Jr. Barbara, Michael Debra, his daughter Renée D. Ricci Jimmy, their mother Betty; 7 step-children, 26 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. He will be greatly missed. Sidney’s family will greet friends in the South Chapel of Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale, 2101 W. Cypress Creek Road, Ft. Lauderdale on Tuesday August 7, at 10 AM followed by funeral service at 11 AM.
