Ron and I became instant friends when we met in 1965, at Rochester Business Institute. Over the next 47 years, Ron made me laugh and smile more than anyone. I loved sharing our college and work adventures over and over again with Lynn, as if she were hearing them for the first time. I’ll miss our annual Christmas morning telephone conversations, which were my favorite gift of all. Ronnie, you were the BIG brother I never had, and yes, I did love “hanging around with you” he would ask, “you like hanging with me, don’t you!”. My buddy gave me so many wonderful memories that will forever keep me smiling. Thank-you and God Bless you, Lynn and the kids.

Love always, John & Jackie.

I am so sorry for your loss. I had the privilege to work with Ron first at St. Joseph’s Residence in the early 90’s, then later seeing him every day at CHS. I was in awe of Ron when I worked with him at St Joseph’s as I watched the resident’s faces light up when Ron entered the room singing and joking. He brought such joy and laughter to all who knew him, it was my pleasure to know him. We truly lost a wonderful friend and the world lost a truly great man.

September 11, 2012, 12:00 am

When our daughter Amy told Bill and me about the love of her life, Ronnie, we were excited to meet the parents of the young man that told her about his love and devotion to his parents. Thru the years as Amy visited the Bonavita’s home, she told us how they welcomed her into their home and treated her like she was their own. She instantly became a “sister”, “daughter”, and “aunt” to his family. After their marriage, Ron and Lynne made every effort to provide an embraceable relationship with her.

We couldn’t have chosen a family that loves Amy more. It was an honor to know Ron. He left a wonderful legacy, but most of all he was a compassionate, caring father in law who loved Amy very much. We will all miss him.
