Laura Velazquez

August 18, 1963~October 09, 2014

Laura A. Velazquez slipped the bonds of Earth and ascended to Heaven on October 9, 2014. On her way, she battled cancer bravely for a year and told all her friends and loved ones that their laughter and smiles gave her strength. Born and educated in Miami, Laura faced life’s challenges with poise and fierce determination. She was the consummate legal professional, supporting the work of some of Broward’s finest litigators at Adorno, Kopelowitz Ostrow, Krupnick Campbell, The Hartford and Litchfield Cavo. At work, she had relentless energy and enthusiasm. Her colleagues knew they could count on her to juggle demanding schedules flawlessly. A legion of friends adored Laura. No Happy Hour was complete unless she was in the midst of the festivities. Laura loved traveling to New York and spending Saturdays at the Red Door Spa with the girls. She was kind, patient and forgiving. She would give you her last smile and her last dollar. She will be missed by all of us. Laura was predeceased by her mother, Pauline Rita Rinaldi, her brother, Paul Rinaldi and her first husband, Freddy Velazquez. No one will miss Laura more than her loving partner, Michael Zambrano and her beloved pug, Albert. Laura celebrated every moment of time she spent with her friends. Everyone will miss her beautiful smile, but we all know she is the best-dressed Angel in Heaven. A Celebration of Laura’s life will be held from 6 – 9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22 at Boyd Panciera, 1600 North University Drive, Hollywood, FL. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to Hospice By The Sea, Himarshee Landing, 1200 East Las Olas Blvd., Suite 203, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301 in Hollywood, FL or the charity of your choice.

I will miss Laura very much… but she will always be in my heart. She was a wonderful friend but I guess God needed another angel in Heaven to help him watch his flock…

Our beautiful angel and close friend Laura Velazquez… We are suffering from losing a wonderful woman with uber class, a fantastic laugh, a confidant, an unconditional and limitless friend and so much more. Words fail to provide comfort but may we all bask in the memories of happiness and love that she gave without effort. I love you Laura Velazquez and will never forget you.
