Christine Wade was born in Widener, Arkansas, on November 14, 1922, to Patrick Perkins and Georgie Pickins. She was the first of three children; a sister (Rose and a brother (Clinton).
Christine was very spiritual and loved the Lord, as well as a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Her favorite color was pink and she loved to smile, she enjoyed reading, and enjoyed watching soap opera “The Young and the Restless”, and joking around with family. Christine was a housewife and loved decorating. She was the epitome of making a house into a home.
At an early age, Christine married Benjamin Harvey. In the early 1950’s, Christine migrated from Arkansas to Chicago, where she met Clarence Ross and was joined in Holy Matrimony; the two conceived eight children. In 1964, the family relocated from Chicago to Hopkins Park, where Christine spent her time working as a nurse for the Manteno State Hospital, while Clarence ran their farm. In 1971, they relocated to Florida where she continued to work as a nurse for South Florida State Hospital and later became an administrator. Her husband Clarence passed away and she later married Roscoe Wade (deceased). She departed this earthly life for eternal rest on June 13, 2017.
Christine will reunite in heaven with her sister, Rose, son, Steve and great-grandson, Jayden just to name a few. Prior to her departure she shared her holistic and strength field spirit with her children, Ted, Steve, Christopher, Shirley, Ricco, Renee, Clarence and Ronald; grandchildren, Theodore Jr., Breanna, Martin, Ayana, Steve Jr., Rodrick, Christopher Jr., Travis, Marcus, Tristan, Nicholas, Brittany, Jerry, Tomekia, Katherine, Victoria, Veronica, Vincent Jr., Vernon, Victor, Virgil, Aisha, Rami, Whitney, Christina, Antoinette, Ronald, Darshell “DD”, Procilla and Antwon; great-grandchildren, Irie, Sahari, Elizabeth, Jade, Glen, Elias, Langston, Josiah, Justin, Jayden, Mia, Jerry Jr., Kamren, Rodney, Mamie, Christine, Bruce, Moriah, Trinity, Christopher, Alisha, Jaylen, Denasia, Jeremiah, Michael, Justin, Jaylen Tellis, Joshua, Justice, Jaliyah, Tavaris, Jordan, Emonie and Austen; two great great-grandchildren; brother, Clinton Perkins; son-in-law, Vincent; daughters-in-law, Beverly, Cheryl, Julie, Lorena; and a host of nieces, nephews and many loving and caring family and friends.
