It is with great sadness that the Searle family announces the passing of Francis Milton “Pops” Searle, 91,who went home to be with the lord on Sunday May 27th 2018.  

Francis is predeceased by his loving wife, Mary Alice Searle, of 47 years. Francis was a wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather. Francis is survived by his 4 children and their families, Randy, Kathy Searle-Ramirez and Neftali Ramirez, Jeff and Andrea, Larry and Karen Seneff.

Francis loved his country and was extremely patriotic, serving as a Merchant Marine in WW II and the Army in the Korean War. After serving in the military, Francis was employed by Southern Bell for 30 years. In 1983, Francis and his 3 sons established Searle Brothers Nursery and The Rainforest Collection in Southwest Ranches, FL. The love and dedication he poured into Searle Brothers Nursery was like no other.

Up until recently, he worked 6 days a week doing what he loved best, riding the golf cart with Dumbo and making sure everything was running smoothly. He especially looked forward to the bi-annual plant extravaganza where he loved talking and telling stories to all of his customers. From his many stories that he shared, to the amount of love he showed to each and every person that was lucky enough to be a part of his family and life, his spirit will continue through everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, June 3, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 7:00 – 9:00 PM at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, University Drive Chapel. Funeral Service will be on Monday, June 4, 10:00 AM also at the funeral home.  Interment with military honors will follow at Hollywood Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Hollywood.
