Henry Coleas, age 92, of Davie, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 21, 2018. Henry was born in New York, New York, the son of the late Eugene and Encarnation Coleas. After graduating High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and proudly served during WWII from 1943 until 1946 when he was honorably discharged. Henry married the love of his life, Helen, in 1953. They were married for 65 wonderful years.
In 1949, Henry began working as an Office Services Supervisor in the Department of Electricity at the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York. In 1963, he began a 35 year career as a Revenue Officer for the U.S. Treasury Department. In 1978, he was elected Chairman of the Joint Council for 5 chapters representing the Jacksonville, Florida District. He held the position until his retirement in 1980.
Henry is survived by his beloved wife Helen, son Hank, daughter-in-law Lynne, and granddaughters Ashley and Allison. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Eugene.
Private services will be held at Boyd-Panciera Funeral Home on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at 10:00AM located at 1600 North University Drive in Pembroke Pines. Mr. Coleas will be interred with full honors at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery located at 11411 NW Doral, Fl. I’m sorry about the loss of your father and grandfather. Its wonderful that he had a full and rewarding life with a loving family. Thinking about you, Aunt Lynne and the girls and sending you comfort in this sad time.

3 yrs have passed. wonderful man. lots of great ny stories. remember him telling me about being overseas during the war at christmas. every time the radio would play “ill be home for christmas’ all the gi’s would get depressed. my uncle who served under patton said the same thing. greatest generation. thanks big henry. i remember all your stories. peace.
