This is the story of Robert Charles Slater. Robert was a wonderful man that was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished. Robert was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather.  

Robert’s story starts on January 8, 1946, the son of Eugene and Doreen (Purvis) Slater. Robert was born in England. Eugene and Doreen decided to move their family to the United States and relocated to south Florida where Robert graduated from high school. After graduation Robert decided to join the Armed Forces and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force until his honorable discharge. He later continued his education at the college level. He worked hard to become a Fire Fighter, a profession he was very proud of. 

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 28 years, Mary B. Slater; his loving children, Florida Stefanelli, Lawrence Bowen, Jason Bowen, Deann Harvey and her husband Robert, Chris Bowen and his wife Erin, and Kimberly Slater. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren. Pre-deceased by his parents, Eugene and Doreen Slater.
