MATA, Maria M. 65, passed away in Hollywood, Sunday April 28, 2019. She was born November 5, 195 in the Dominican Republic to her parents Francisco Antonio Mata and Blasina Maria Perez. She came to the United States at the age of 16 in 1969. Maria became a Social Worker in New Jersey and raised six children as a single parent. She came to live in South Florida in 2006.

Maria is survived by her loving children: Yadira Gil of Hollywood, Adela Gil (Peter) of Hollywood, Julio Gil of Linden, New Jersey, Indira Gil (Victor) of Hollywood; Brother Bernardo Gil (Aricelis) of Jersey City, New Jersey, Sister Francisca Mata of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Brother Luis Whatts (Lucy) of Ft. Myers, Florida, Sister Olga Whatts of New Jersey; adoring Grandchildren: Crystal Ramos of Hollywood, Kiana Ford of Hollywood, Nakia Ford of Hollywood, Amethyst Acosta of Hollywood, Matteo Gil of Linden, New Jersey, Niece Julisa Ramirez and Nephew Gabriel Ramirez.

Friends may visit from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday May 2nd at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, 6400 Hollywood Blvd. There will be a Tributes of a Lifetime Service and Jahovah’s Witness Service 6:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home.
