Sergeant Salvador Suarez-Williams, age 93, died peacefully in his Fort Lauderdale, FL home on January 26, 2019. A veteran of the United States Army who served this country with pride and dignity.
Sgt. Suarez-Williams was born on February 14, 1925 in Guanica, Puerto Rico to Domingo Suarez and Juana Williams. After graduating from high school he continued his education and achieved his Associate’s degree. He later joined the armed forces and served as a Telecommunications Specialist for the Army.
In 1964, Sgt. Suarez-Williams retired after 20 years of honorable service. He was a brave and loyal soldier, as well as a patient and loving father. He married the love of his life and together raised their two daughters in a home full of love and care. He will be deeply missed by his family but will forever be fondly remembered.
He is survived by his daughters: Lydia Suarez Antonatos and Lillian Cassidy, his son-in-law Jorge Antonatos, his sisters Alma Suarez, Carmen Suarez and Ada Suarez, and his four grandkids Angie, Joe, Jorge Jr and Lillian, as well as six great grandkids: Daniel, Haley, Christian, Isabella, Jacob and Alexander. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife.
A memorial mass will take place on Saturday, February 9, 2019, at 12:00 p.m. at Nativity Catholic Church, 5220 Johnson Street, Hollywood, FL 33021.
