Obituary of Rosetta Forrester

Rosetta Forrester (nee Gabay) died October 12, 2019 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She was born June 19, 1935, in Westmoreland, Jamaica to Leonorah Spence and Twedlyn Gabay. She was preceded in death by her younger brother Vincent, both of her parents and her grandson Carl.
Rosetta was a skilled seamstress who designed and sewed clothing and crocheted some of the most intricate pieces during her early years.
In 1969, she married Uriah Forrester and moved to Montego Bay, Jamaica where she was a homemaker. After Uriah’s passing in 1977, she continued to live in Montego Bay and later migrated to the United States.
Rosetta is survived by daughters Gloria and Vinora (Ian), and son Norman. Grandchildren Mark, Melanie and Kamiya.
Visitation from 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM followed by Funeral services at 11:30 AM on Saturday, October 26, 2019, at the Episcopal Church of the Atonement, 4401 W Oakland Park Blvd., Lauderdale Lakes, Florida, with burial immediately following at Bailey Memorial Garden, 7801 Bailey Road, North Lauderdale, Florida.
A repast will follow at Krabe Restaurant and Lounge, 4519 N. Pine Island Road, Sunrise, Florida 33351 .
