Suckie Sr, Henry Anthony age 55 of Miramar, Florida passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2019.

Henry Anthony Suckie, Sr., affectionately known by many as “Tally B” or “Sooks” was born on September 26, 1964 from the holy union of Wilfred (deceased) and Movita Suckie in Kingston, Jamaica. Henry was the fourth of five children. He spent the first seven years of his life living with his beloved grandparents, John and Eliza Suckie, who he often acknowledges for instilling strong discipline morals in him. While living with his grandparents, he attended Swallowfield Primary.

Thereafter, he rejoined his parents and four siblings in Patrick City, Kingston, Jamaica. It was there he learned the craft of being a man of excellence. Henry attended the reputable Calabar High School, and upon graduating in the year of 1982, he soon began his career serving as a Supervisor at Jamaica’s Coca-Cola. His career was short-lived, as he decided to migrate to “The Land of Opportunity”- the United States of America; officially naming it his home in 1989.

Henry was known for being robust, hardworking, and charismatic, with an irresistible sense of humor at times. It were these characteristics that drew him to the love of his life, Hope Shaw, who he swept off of her feet, and quickly won her heart. The two had their first of two children Henry Anthony Suckie, Jr in December of 1991, and decided it was in their best interest to tie the knot, and the two eloped in holy matrimony on November 20, 1992. Henry and Hope were soon blessed with baby number two, Curtis Jonathon Suckie in 1993.

Henry is most notable for his career as a horse trainer. A game and job he took seriously and held to a high regard. He enjoyed most training for his family’s entourage, and he did relatively well in the short time he spent devoted to this line of work. While working as a horse trainer, he also held various jobs to help make ends meet for his family, and he did so with excellence. However, he, suddenly, became unable to work on February 24, 2018 when he was diagnosed with leukemia; his life changed forever. His level of strength was tested beyond measure. After twenty months of battling this rare form of cancer, his Lord and Savior ended his suffering called him home on December 8, 2019.

Henry will always be remembered for the resilience he showed throughout his life, the love and comfort he provided his family, and the kindness he showed others, despite who they were. Nothing meant more to Henry more than his family. He is survived by his wife: Hope (Dawn); Sons: Henry Jr. and Curtis; beloved grand-daughter: Shaniyah; mother: Movita (Putch); siblings: Maria, Monica, Rohan (Rampal) and Wilfred (Tony); his nieces who he treated as his very own daughters: Kimla, Kenisha, Sasha, and Ashlee; his aunts, uncles, and a plethora of cousins, relatives, and friends.

A visitation will be held for family and friends on Friday, December 27, 2019 from 7:00PM-9:00PM followed by a “Tributes of a Lifetime” service at 7:30PM at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care 6400 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood, Florida. A mass will be held Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 12:00PM at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 8005 Miramar Parkway, Miramar Florida. Burial will take place at Hollywood Memorial Gardens North, 3001 North 72nd Avenue, Hollywood, Florida.
