Our Dear brother, Roseval Philippeaux better known as ‘Rosie’ or ‘Pipo’ was born in Port-au- Prince, Haiti on May 23, 1955. He was the oldest son of Mrs. Marie Emile Dennery and Mr. Joseph Francisque Philippeaux (both deceased). Roseval attended Lycee Francois Duvalier in Petion-Ville before migrating to Washington, D.C. in March of 1974 where he graduated from Roosevelt High School.
In High School, Roseval played American football and soccer. He was one of the best goalkeepers growing up. He actually played for a very famous team: Etoile d’Haiti of Washington, D.C. in a semi professional soccer league where he won several trophies during the 1974-1975 season.
During the summer of 1975, Roseval reluctantly moved with his parents to Westbury, Long Island (New York) to continue with his education. Five years later, he returned to Washington in 1980 to marry his high school sweetheart Carine Etienne who gave him 2 beautiful children Marc Henry (38 y/o) and NeKeisha Philippeaux (32 y/o).
Unfortunately, the marriage did not last and they were divorced 10 years later in 1990.
Rosie worked many years at different large companies in New York and Washington including a major pharmaceutical corporation working in the accounting department. He was admired by everyone he came in contact with.
About 15 years ago, Rosie decided to return to Haiti so he could watch over his ailing parents (Francis and Marie). He was there for them during that terrible earthquake of 2010 that devastated the beautiful little island… and he was also at their bedside before saying Goodbye on their way to Heaven…
Rosie was also known for his infectious smile and no nonsense personality. He lived his life HIS way… That guy had NO enemies… He is survived by his 2 children Marc Henry and NeKeisha who gave him 4 grand-daughters (Kaelyn Lassiter, Michelle, Taylor and Marley Philippeaux).
Roseval was a loving brother who left behind 2 sisters: Faimi Philippeaux Moscova and Gislaine Philippeaux Sense… He also left behind 4 brothers: Rodrigue, Henry, Jean-Robert and Serge Philippeaux. He was a graceful Uncle to countless nieces and nephews. He had lots of cousins and was a Dear friend to many people.
Rosie left this world much too soon and will be greatly missed… Rest In Peace, my Brother!!
