It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Russell “Russ” Hugh Davenport, 58, loving father, grandfather and friend to all. He passed away suddenly on the morning of July 15, 2018 of natural causes.
Russell was born in Red Bank, NJ and grew up in Baltimore, MD, where he was a proud Milford Mill High School alum. A passionate storyteller, Russell would often talk of his childhood friends and their misadventures from his first concert to the untimely demise of numerous family cars.
Russell was a dedicated home inspector, telling buyers the truth of their potential new home and stories of his daughters and grandchildren.
Having recently moved to the beach, Russell spent his weekends with his toes dipped in the ocean and face in the sun. A music lover, Russell often sang and played drums in the Davenport family band.
Russell leaves behind his daughters, Jessica and Sara, grandchildren, Lucas Geer and Ellie Muniz, siblings, Janet Davenport, Greg Davenport, William “Billy” Phillips, Cora Davenport, Doug Davenport and Deborah Levy among countless friends and family.
He is pre-deceased by his mother, Kathleen “Kathy” Phillips (nee Mc Donnell), father William “Bill” Phillips and Arthur C. Davenport.
A visitation and celebration of life will be held on
Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm at Boyd Panciera Family Funeral Care at
1600 N University Dr, Pembroke Pines, FL 33024. All who knew and loved him are invited to attend.

Russ was my lifelong dear friend. From 10 yr old kids to adulthood we were together in so many fun adventures and experiences. Some of the best times of my life were spent with Russ. Just recently we were reminiscing about some of those times and could not stop laughing. Russ would always be there to help anyone at anytime, anyway he could. To say that I was lucky to call him my dear friend would be an understatement, I was blessed by his friendship. He was truly one of a kind. I am crushed and deeply saddened by his passing. I was so sorry to hear of Russell’s passing. We had reconnected on Facebook several years ago and just weeks ago had been private messaging about people from our past.
