Robert Handal

On Friday June 26, 2020, Robert Charles Handal, loving husband and father of four children passed away at the age of 68. Robert was born on August 24, 1951, in Kingston, Jamaica , to Pedro and Henriette (Ghattas) Handal. He married Joy, the love of his life on January 27, 1976. They raised three daughters, Monique, Rejanne, and Stephanie and one son, Jonathan. Robert was preceded in death by his parents. Along with leaving behind the love his life and his children he will be remembered by his eight grandchildren one great granddaughter. He will also be dearly missed by his two brothers and two sisters in California, nieces, nephews and many cousins and friends in both Jamaica, California and many parts of the world. The most important thing to Robert was family, he cherished his time with them. Robert was a kind soul, he was the first one to offer the shirt off his back to help others in need, even if it meant that he will go without. He enjoyed the racehorses, fishing, soccer and listening to his oldies, he also had an incredible sense of humor. His greatest attribute was his love of cooking, he was a great cook especially his jerk chicken. His children and his grandchildren will always remember the teaching of his important life lessons. He lived by his motto “that’s life one day you are on top of the world and next day you are flat on your face but pick yourself up and get back in the race.” Robert, rest in eternal peace and let perpetual light shine upon you.
