I have recently just made aware of the passing of this wonderdul angel, whom I will forever hold a debt of gratitude. After arriving from Haiti, my own birth mother wanted to literally starve me because she didn’t want in her house. Upon realizing what was going on, Amarante gave me keys to her apartment in Brooklyn, so that I could have some nourishments after school. May this angel rest in peace! My condolences to the Laguerre family.
