Mercedes Jimenez, 69, passed in peace on Friday, August 28th with her family by her side in Cooper City, Florida. She lived a fulfilling life as a loving mother to her three sons, husband, grandchildren, and a friend to many. She was happiest when surrounding herself with her growing family, taking care of her grandchildren, and making sure that everyone was nourished, comfortable, and content. “Mercy” is survived by her husband, Manuel Jimenez; her children, Adrian, Carlos and wife, Kerensa, Manuel and wife, Lori; her grandchildren, Zane, Taylor, Kelia, Kaia and Keeli; as well as her sister, Lizette Hill. She was a devoted teacher for 35 years. Her lessons of unconditional love, pride in her Cuban heritage, and hard work by example touched many more than just her grateful students. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with as well as those she has touched  but never met.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 1st 2020, 5:00 PM at the Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, 1600 N. University Drive, Pembroke Pines, FL 33024. As per request, funeral services will be kept private and for immediate family only. All are welcome to attend a funeral mass which will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 2nd 2020 at 11:00 AM at St. Mark Catholic Church, 5601 S. Flamingo Road, Southwest Ranches, FL 33330. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor her life can make a donation in her name directly to JDRF, 370 Centerpointe Cir, #1154, Altamonte Springs, FL 32701.
