Terence Reginald Evans was born on March 3rd, 1957 in New York City to Dr. Terence Reginald Evans Sr. and Winton (Wendy) Dendy. He was raised in the prestigious and tight knit Riverton Community in Harlem NYC.

Terence, also known to this day as Terry , T-Mia and Tito (to his closest buddies/the “Clique”) developed strong ties with his peers and maintained a lifelong friendship to this day.  Connecting with his community, through Facebook and the many groups he participated in. He was always contributing his knowledge whether it was motorcycles, music, the Yankees, cooking or home improvement projects. In his youth, he served as a Cub Scout then Boy Scout from 1966 through 1971. He continued to support the Scout Troop #163 as an Adult Leader in the late 1970’s and into the early 1980’s and attended the troops 1st Invitational Camporee at the National West Point in upstate New York as part of a 5000 scout encampment. The entire community was very proud of their Boys Scouts and Troop Leaders.

Terence excelled academically, quite gifted and bright in sciences. School came very easy for him. He received his primary education at NYC public schools, graduated with honors from the highly competitive Brooklyn Technical High School, attended Buffalo State University and Hunter College in NYC before pursuing his Medical Degree at UTESA (Universidad Technological de Santiago) in Santo Domingo of the Dominican Republic. After graduating in 1984 he return to NYC and went to work with adolescents at Cumberland and Downstate Hospital in NY. He later found his passion in the administrative area of Medicine, Malpractice and the Health Insurance Industry.

Another passion of Terence was The New York Yankees, cooking, Scuba diving and Motorcycle riding among other things.  He was a fan and long distance rider. He shared his passions with his wife Edwina of 34 plus years.

The Story of Terence and Edwina

In 1979, Dr. Terence Reginald Evans, Sr. introduced his dental assistant, Edwina and future daughter-in-law to his son Terry, Jr. And a union was made on March 21st, 1987.

A new chapter began. In 1993 Terence and Edwina relocated from New York to Miami Florida via K-1200Lt BMW Touring Motorcycle with a moving van in tow. Together they pursued their passion and interest becoming certified Scuba Drivers, joined the BMW Motor Cycle Riders of America, American Motorcycles Association and DIY’s of the home improvement community. Throughout the years they travelled by motorcycle across country.  From NYC, Colorado, Mexico, Utah, California, Vermont, to name just a few. During their travels they camped with many clubs and received numerous awards for “2-Up” Long Distance Riders.  Their involvement with the BMW scene gave them the opportunity to participate in the “2001 BMW Real Riders” advertisement. They also shared the love of their 4 legged Chocolate Labrador retriever “Coco” for 15 ½ years.

Terence’s professional pursuit and employment with the Health Exchange Agency in Boca Raton, Florida and Mutual of Omaha gave him the opportunity to further grow in the field of health insurance. This is where he excelled in catering to senior’s health and “talking”, one of his strong suits. Here he met and developed strong bonds with a group of exceptional people. Here he made a connection with not only professional but loyal individuals who embraced him /us. It was with this group that he was recognized for his hard work and legendary performance with a trip to Killarney, Ireland in 2018. And, a side trip to Paris France.

Survived by:

His wife Edwina Woodson-Evans, Sisters, Wendy Amos and Gwen O’Dell, Family and cousins of the Evans, Dendy and Woodson Family and a host of Friends in many parts of the world.

 My love,

Your boots can never be filled. My heart will never be whole again …

Only you, who know me, well.

You thought I was hard to get.  Not really, just difficult. You needed to do a lot to impress me. And you did for 40 plus years and more!

Life’s journey…with you will never end.

We will always have Paris.

 I love you more!

 Edwina (TLE)

What a wonderful Life that will be greatly missed.

From childhood, Terry “Tito” Evans was one of my best and dearest friends. So many laughs and memories over the years! I feel like I lost one of my Brothers with his passing. Tito, you lived life well … and now your work here is done. Watch over all of us from your unique “perch” in Heaven. Until we meet again, Bro …

I remember when Terry and Edwina came through DC on their way to Florida and they stopped by to see us. We were amazed they were driving so far on a motorcycle. But what an awesome thing to do! Unfortunately this was the last time Terry and I actually saw each other. So glad that we were able to reconnect through social media. Rest in peace dear Cousin. With love and remembrance.

Many memories of you Terry or ‘little’ Terry as we used to call you. New York City in the early 80’s with Uncle Terry, your beautiful wedding to Edwina and many family gatherings at Christmas and Thanksgiving in Florida. We shared a love of movies and I was your ‘go to’ person for family info and West Indian recipes. I hope you’re hanging with Big T reminiscing about good times. Rest in Peace!

Terry or ‘little Terry’ as we used to call you, I have so many memories of you. New York City with Uncle Terry in the 80’s, your beautiful wedding to Edwina. Family gatherings at Thanksgiving and Christmas in Florida after we both relocated to the sunshine state. I was your ‘go to’ person for family info and Caribbean recipes. We also shared a love of movies. I hope you’re hanging with Big T and reminiscing about good times. Rest in Peace!

Terry you made each day we worked together a joy. We laughed a lot and what’s better than that? You were like a big brother and had so much wisdom to share about anything and everything. You made a huge impression on anyone you met with your magnetic personality. You always talked about your other half Edwina and I felt like I knew her from afar. I wish peace for you both and will miss you my friend.

You could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work and play.
Tasks undone must stay that way.. No more pain, no more tears. Now rest in peace.

I remember when Terry and Edwina stopped to see their DC family on the way to Florida. We were in awe that they were traveling on a motorcycle for the entire trip. What an awesome thing to do! That was the last time I saw Terry, but am so glad that we reconnected on social media. I truly enjoyed trading posts and reading about his adventures. Rest in peace dear Cousin. You will be missed, but never forgotten.
Love, Cousin Sharon

Anne Evans
And when the stream that overflows has passed,
A consciousness remains upon the silent shore of memory:
Images and precious thoughts that shall not be
And cannot be destroyed.

Rest in peace Terry

Edwina!

I just found out about T-Mia today and I (and Linda) cannot be more sorry for your loss.
Terry was someone that became an instant friend when I met him in the BMW motorcycle community so many years ago, and both Linda and I well remember when you two showed up at our door, very late at night, when you were heading just about a half hour south of us to attend the ’96 Atlanta Olympics.
Even though your stay was short, it is still well remembered.
May you find some peace, Edwina; Terry will always be well remembered by those of us that were lucky enough to know him.

My name is clyde romero
I am a native New Yorker from the city like Terry
I have known Terry for many years we are avid motor cyclists and both Terry and his wife Edwina have had many BMW rally’s together over the years
He will be sorely missed at the rally’s and on the road
He left us way to early.
I have many pictures of Terry and Edwina and myself at rally’s which I hold dearly.
Take care my friend may the shifts always be smooth and the road straight with the wind at you back.

I met T-Mia only twice. Once, in Death Valley, then he helped me out at the IBR checkpoint in Fla. I had been a fan of his emails on the IBMWR list and VI. It is very sad to hear of his passing, I’m sure he will be missed by many, many people.
